This past Sunday, my church-Tarrant Bible Methodist-celebrated it’s 50th Anniversary. We had a beautiful service. That is my pastor-John Burroughs- above, giving us the opening announcements.
His daughter, which is also my cousin, Jana Burroughs Pop, played a beautiful arrangement of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”. I could have sat and listened to her play all day!
Leonard, Krista, and their oldest son, Jerrel sang the special called “God Can”. It was so cute! (Jerrel was anyway! :-) )
Our Conference President, Walt Hedstrom, gave some of his earliest memories of our church when he first came to Alabama. (a very long time ago!) While he was speaking, a storm moved in and we lost power. Jonathan Womelsdorf had to sing acapella with a flashlight. Then my Uncle Gerald (the first pastor of our church 50 yrs ago) spoke.
Sorry, this picture is blurry. I don’t know how to take pictures in the dark apparently. It was very dark and they had to set up lanterns for him to see by. The next picture looks a lot lighter than it was. (due to my flash) sorry the flames seem to be out of control. They really weren’t!
These next pictures are from our fellowship/lunch next door in the “blue house” as the kids call it. Thank the Lord our power came back on not to long after we started getting the food ready to be put out to be served! We didn’t have to eat cold food!
Valorie holding up baby Tyler-he doesn’t look real pleased with this position! :-)

Last we moved outside to get a group picture of our church family. Here is Mr. Wayne Fleming setting up his tripod to get the picture. Jeff took pictures of us getting ready to do this. He did not get a picture of the group. Ha! Hopefully the Flemings will share with us their copy of this and I can add it back in later.
Here I am with Sis. Linda Hedstrom. Sorry for the nasty look on my face. I am not sure what was up with that. I think I was just HOT!!
The back of Krista’s head with Patrick their youngest son.
I am so blessed to go to this church and be a part of it’s ministry. This is the church I was dedicated in, raised in, married in, dedicated my own children in and am raising my children in. We have a wonderful group of people to worship with. God’s Presence is in our services. And I am truly grateful!
