Thirteen years ago yesterday, I delivered our firstborn son-Jorden Tyler. As pregnancies go, his was a pretty normal one. I had a little bit of high blood pressure towards the end to deal with, but nothing too serious. He was 3 days late getting here according to the due date my doctor gave me. It felt like 3 years at the time. I remember crying every day that went by that I didn’t go into labor. Now that seems so silly. I also remember that I was HUGE and very HOT and TIRED of being pregnant! Ha! Ha!
I went into labor around midnight Tuesday night, spent a very long night counting contractions and called the doctor around 6 am. He advised us to head to the hospital and after a very LONG day, Jorden was born at 5:13 pm. I remember he was so tiny, yet so beautiful to me. He weighed 7 lbs, 14 ozs. He didn’t have much hair and he looked a lot like my daddy. (most everyone says he still does!)
He was a very good baby and we had so much fun with him. These past 13 years have flown past me. God has given him many great talents. Most importantly, Jorden gave his heart to Christ when he was a small child and does his best to live for Him every day. He is an awesome young man whom I am very proud to call my son. I love you Jorden!
Here are a few pictures of days gone past…
Yes, I know my stomach looks fake. I promise I did not have a basketball under there! Ha! Ha! Who do you think will deliver first? :-)
Wasn’t he precious?
Jorden’s first birthday
Say Cheese!
Last night we had a little party for him. My cousins John and Aneita Burroughs and their daughter Jana, and her son, Samuel came. And of course my parents. Jorden also wanted to invite his friend from school and church-Jessie Hedstrom and her family. We had two other relatives invited but they were both sick and unable to come.
Here are some pictures I captured…
Jorden with NanNaw and Baby Samuel.
“party goers”-Aneita, Jana, and John
and Christy (her children stayed downstairs playing most of the night, and her husband-Joseph was out of town)
Taylor found a buddy…
We played Pictionary. Jorden, Taylor, my mom and dad and I on one team against Christy, Aneita, Jana, John and Jessica. They beat us by one point. Jeff was the master of ceremony and he makes up his own rules! Ha! He picked the word for us to draw and did give each of us one pass on each turn. However, that started after the first turn, which was Jorden. Poor thing was supposed to draw “India”. He did a great job, but none of us knew what it was. Ha! After that we all demanded a free pass on all countries or continents.

Her daughter Jessie is very good at drawing and guessing!
Jana’s turn!
Trying to guess what the picture is…
Taylor is also very good at this game!!
Jorden got “Thou Shalt Laugh 3” from John and Aneita
Uncle Gerald (who wasn’t able to come) gave him a softball. He will be in Jr. High this coming school year and they play softball a lot. He wanted a ball and glove to practice this summer. :-)
Watching Jorden open his gifts…
Jana gave him the first book in the new series, “Kidsboro”
My parents gave him Auburn PJ’s! Yay! War Eagle!
Mom and dad also gave him a 4 cd set of Beethoven's Symphonies
Jeff and I gave him a “adult size sleeping bag” and a new glove and softball.
All the kids, plus Jana! ha! (This was baby Samuel’s first birth day party)
Jorden blowing out his candles. Taylor looks pretty excited doesn’t he?
His favorite birthday cake-Ice cream Sandwich cake!! Yummy! And very easy to make!
Welcome to your teens Jorden! We love you!
