Woo Hoo!! I’ve survived another week of competition!!! This time it was for Jorden. Now that he is in Jr. High, he goes to a different competition than Taylor did. This is a whole new level of competition for him. He started right after last year’s competition working on his song for this year. He played “Valse in E Flat Major” Opus 83. The song was 7 pages long (and that was without the repeats), and he had to memorize it all. He has spent many hours working on the song and it was beautiful! We knew it was much harder to win at this level and he said he would be satisfied if he could just get an Excellent or Superior, even if he didn’t place in the top three. Boy my stomach was in a knot. He played on Thursday, both his solo song and his duet song that he played with Alissa Blankenship. (They played the Washington Post). We then had to wait till Friday afternoon to find out the results.

And the results were….Jorden placed 2nd place with a Superior rating!!!
Jorden and Alissa placed 1st with a Superior rating and a perfect score!!! Yay!!! We are so proud of them!!
Also attending and winning….
Skyler White and Kali Kennedy won 2nd place with an Excellent Rating in Classical Piano Duet (Jr High)
Andrew Blankenship and Shelby Sewell won 1st place with a Superior Rating in Classical Piano Duet (Sr High) They get to represent Alabama at Bob Jones University for National Competition.
Very proud of all of them!!
