This was our year to go to Ohio for Christmas so here are some pictures of our time up there with Jeff’s family. We did not have a White Christmas this year but we did get snow a couple days later. It was beautiful, but way to cold to play in. The best part of all, no one got sick while we were gone!! Yippee! That is a first for our family!
We arrived at Pop Pop’s house Christmas Eve around lunch time. We had a little bit of time to relax and rest before showering and heading out to eat at “Texas Roadhouse” to eat dinner with Jeff’s dad, brother-Joe, and his sister-Joan, and her two boys, Tim and Chris. Afterwards, we came back to Pop Pop’s house to open “stocking gifts” from him.

These next pictures are of Christmas morning. We all look pretty rough. It was early (7:00 am, which to us was like 6:00 am) and we were really tired. But everyone was excited about opening gifts. Jacob especially!!
Taylor got a Star Wars DS game he really wanted!
Jacob still LOVES stuffed animals. Both of his brothers bought him the exact same Santa bear this year. Ha!
Jeff got lots of new dress clothes.
And this for his desk at work.
Jacob looks overwhelmed by all the packages….
Jeff’s dad got him this “Jim Tressel sweater vest”. He was very surprised and loves it!! He looks great in it too! :o)
Hmmmm…wonder what this could be?
Yay! A new baseball bat!!
We went over to Jeff’s sister’s house that afternoon to open gifts with them. Her boys got “Rock Band” for Christmas and all the guys had fun playing with that.
Jacob, Jorden, and Taylor all got new DS games this year. That is all they wanted to do as you can see!
Star Wars Legos!!
Joan got me Polish Pottery votive candles. I love them!! They are so pretty!!
Dad looks like he is happy with his gift, but I’m not sure what it is.
We got him a new set of knives (he really needed!)
This is Joan and the boys cat…Mitch. He enjoyed all the paper.
“I love Christmas!!!”
The guys had several rounds of Monopoly. They have their own set of “house rules” and it sounded like they were having a great time in there.
We got a new game called “In a Pickle”. It was a lot of fun!
More of the “rock group”
Still playing the “DS”!
This was a different time of playing “Rock Band”. Jeff really liked it, but he said they need to get a “Southern Gospel Band” Ha! We didn’t know very many of the songs so that made it hard to play. We all had a good laugh.
We had a lot of fun taking pictures of the birds that Pop Pop has coming to his feeders. They looked so pretty against the snow. Hope I don’t bore you too much.
Pop Pop offered to pay the boys if they would shovel his driveway for him on Tuesday. It was bitterly cold, so as fun as it sounded at first, they soon figured out this would be HARD, COLD work! After a while Jeff had pity on them and helped out some. I still think they earned their money!! Jacob didn’t last long at all, but he enjoyed “playing” in the snow some.
Jacob always had a smile for me!
Shoveling snow is harder than it looks!!
Jorden is making some headway here…
The snow wasn’t good for packing and making snowballs, so I wasn’t too worried!
My sweet baby!!
Making snow angels…
HI Mom!
Yes! I was very cold!!
Jeff showing Taylor how to shovel…
Jeff taking a turn…
Still smiling!
Hmmm…where’s your smile? (I think it had frozen and fallen off by this time)
After a while, Jeff gave up on the shovels and decided to try “blowing” the snow with Dad’s blower. It worked pretty good! The snow was just like powder!
We had a great time that week! Thanks for your sweet hospitality Dad!! We love you!
