Wild West Adventure-Summer 2012 (Final Part!)

Jorden’s Birthday

On Tuesday of our last week of vacation, Jorden turned 16! That day turned out to be a “bummer” due to the fact that we had to change the plans we had and instead had to drive all day. IMG_4618

It is very flat in  Kansas! Lots of wheat, corn and cows to look at…..for HOURS! Smile

Every now and then you might see a wind turban or two…

We did manage to find a Chili’s to eat at for supper and to celebrate this momentous occasion. (Notice Taylor is still not feeling well)

In Branson, we once again visited the Sight and Sound Theater.

This was our third time to go (2nd time here, and once in Lancaster, PA). This was my parents 1st time to go. (Pop has been too many times to count. Smile) We saw the production of “Joseph” again. They only do one production a summer and unfortunately we had seen it in Lancaster, two years ago. But it was so good, we decided it didn’t matter and we wanted my parents to see it as well. This event is so wonderful! If you are ever near Branson or Lancaster, I encourage you to spend the money and GO! It is expensive, but we all feel it is well worth the money! If you are emotional at all, take tissues! Ha! I didn’t take my purse in with me so I didn’t have any. All I could do was get some toilet paper from the restroom. It was a pitiful site by the time the show was over. No, it is not sad, it is just very moving! I felt God’s Presence from the very beginning till the end. The story of Joseph has always been one of my favorites, and they do a tremendous job with it. This was one of the highlights of the trip for me. (I think it was for all of us!)

The weather in Branson was perfect! You couldn’t have asked for a nicer evening. Our hotel had a really pretty setting. We were above the Sight and Sound Theater and the sun set right behind it. (S & S) There was a nice little walking path out behind the hotel that Jeff and I enjoyed.

We drove to Memphis, TN the next day. When we got out of our  van at the hotel, there was no doubt we were back in the South! It was HOT! Surprised smileThen it was back home the next day.

God was so merciful  and blessed us so much on our trip. Looking back, we see His Hand on every part of our trip. One week after we were in Colorado Springs, the fires moved into the areas we had visited. We are so sadden by the loss and destruction, and are praying for the people in and around that area.
