Our boys had their piano recital this past Tuesday. I think with all that is going on in my life these days, and with the recent competitions, I just didn’t have time to get nervous or I am finally getting past that stage!!?? I worked all day, stayed an extra hour at school because our middle son was on a field trip, flew home and ironed all three of their shirts and pants (I had to washed them that morning before we went to school), made brownies for the reception, ate a quick supper (sort of a “fend for yourself night”) changed my clothes and flew back to the school. Somewhere in there, I forgot to get nervous. But I was proud of all three of them. They did a really great job, as all of her students did. It was a very enjoyable recital.
Karen getting everybody lined up for the newspaper picture.
Trying to get everybody looking the same way at the same time and with a smile….NOT!
Mrs. Karen Blankenship and her students…
Everyone waiting anxiously for the recital to begin…
Bro. Paul Pierpoint and his wife are filling in some for us at our church till our new pastor comes (in July). They have become so dear to us. They came out to show their support of Jerrel Collins and our three boys and even gave each of them a card. They are so sweet! Our kids just love them!
All the mom’s of the students…Karen gave each of us a flower in a bud vase this year. It was very sweet!
Jerrel Collins, the youngest student. He goes to our church and we were all pulling for him. He did a great job! We were very proud of him! He played BINGO that included a little clapping part. It was adorable!
Jerrel getting his certificate and trophy.
Jacob played “The Toy Shop” a classical piece.
We are so proud of you Jacob!! You are doing a great job!
Jorden played his classical piece from competition-Valse in E Flat by Marie-Auguste Durand.
We are so proud of your progress Jorden! This piece was 7 pages long!
Magic fingers….:o)
Taylor played a sacred piece-an arrangement of “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” by Eleanor Pankow. He has learned and memorized this piece since competition in March.
It was a beautiful piece, played beautifully!!
We are so proud of you too Taylor!
