Our boys also competed in the Alabama ACEA State Fine Arts Competition this year in March. Jorden and Taylor were up first with the Jr and Sr. High division.
I asked the High School kids to do their pieces in our Elementary Chapel on Monday the week they competed. Jorden had the stomach virus that day so he got out of it.
Taylor doing his piece-he competed in the Jr. High sacred piano category
Skyler competed in the classical piano category for High School
Julia competed in the speech category for High School
Danielle also competed in the Jr. High Classical piano category, but she did not play in chapel.
Competition for the Jr High and High School kids is Thursday and Friday. Our boys played their pieces on Thursday for the judges, then we went back on Friday for the awards ceremony. Some categories are also on Friday. (Julia did her speech on Friday.)

Jorden was very nervous, but excited also!
Taylor, warming up before he played. I asked him when he was finished, how he thought he did. He said “awesome!” LOL! He is a very funny guy!
For some reason I didn’t get a picture of Jorden when he was warming up. ![]()
