Hiking at Cuyahoga Falls...

We always enjoy the hiking in and around the Akron area. This year we visited Cuyahoga Falls again. The boys really enjoy the rocks they can climb on. (especially our little mountain goat, Jacob!) Pop Pop was not real thrilled with the idea however. Due to recent rains, several people had fallen and unfortunately died within the last few weeks/months. But we decided to give it a try and be extra careful.

For those of you that know me, I am typically NOT a "rule-breaker". If the sign says "don't do this or that", I don't! Due to the recent rains and storms in that area, the park had put up barriers in certain parts of the trail that we were hiking. However, there were no signs that said "do not cross". It was just sort of understood...My husband is a little more daring than I am...yes, we crossed the barriers. As a result, we climbed over a large tree that had fallen across the trail, and crossed a deep "hole" in the side of a cliff that had washed out. It was a little unnerving to me. I kept thinking a Park Ranger would show up and haul us off to jail...(I know, I tend let my imagination get the best of me sometime). Just as we climbed over the last barrier, we look up to see another family standing there looking at us. The mother loudly says "See! I told you we could go that way!" ha!
