Before the play began, “Mr. P” (the director) had several volunteers come up front. He dressed them up in silly costumes and used them to explain what this play was about. If you’ve ever read Shakespeare, or seen one of his plays you know they can be pretty hard to understand. This helped us all out tremendously!
Jacob (our youngest) was chosen to represent the father in the play.
Jeff and Mr. Walt Hedstrom were chosen to represent the slaves.
Mr. White was one of the rich twin brothers, and Jeff was his slave.
Jacob was the father to the slaves, but only Mr. White knew him.
Mr. Slack was the other twin and knew his mother (played by Ben Fleming
) Mr. P is explaining all of this to us right here.

Dylan was one of the shop keepers.
Spencer White was the armourshop owner. He said the “mail costume” he wore was pretty heavy!

I can’t remember which shop this was in. But the props were wonderful again this year.

This group of kids did a “mime” which told the story of how the twin brothers and slaves were both separated at birth.
Cody and Alec played the twin slaves (Dromio of Ephesus, and Dromio of Syracuse). This was one of the cutest parts of the play. They pretended to be looking in a mirror at themselves. They copied moving their hands around at the same times. It was really cool!
Skyler White played one of the twin brothers (Antipholus). He did an outstanding job!!

Jorden messed up a line here and it was quite funny. He did well covering it. I was so proud of him. He knows how to think fast on his feet!

Meryn has come to rescue her long lost husband (they were separated at sea. Both thought the other was dead)
Jorden said this last scene was the hardest. A few times some of them got a little tickled about what was going on.
Skyler is once again declaring his love for Devin (Luciana). Chandler looks impressed!! Ha!
The two slave twin brothers were so glad to be together again.

So of the kids had two parts as backstage managers, assistant directors, lights, sound etc.
Mr. P, gave a trophy to the person who worked the hardest and had the best attitude. Lauren Self received it this year. She had the sweetest smile on her face.
